(HELP)How to edit rsc,r1 files properly

Can someone teach me how to edit rsc and r1 files properly.I use rsceditor 1.7 and manage to edit the text and put it back into the app and also can also install.But the app cannot be open.Each time i open the app system error is display.What did i do wrong.I try to be modder but failed

You need to edit in resEditor.
You need to mod strings of same length as they are before in original file.
For ex : if a sting says 'good'
you can't edit it like 'goodbad' or 'awesome ' , that might've caused Austen errors.

You mean if the original word got 5 character,i can only enter other word with 5 character.More or less will cause system error to be displayed ? and thank you for your help.The moderator here is more helpful

Gonna give double thanks for your help and last question if dont mind.If i need to follow same character limit how come under modder can even change the whole text and add their own and even add extra word?

hello.
Yes you can enter longer too , for that i personally use HXD hex editor :)
but needs careful editing , its better at first if you edit with reseditor.
Once you know how exactly things work , you can try your hand at hex-editing the files. :)

Try it but when i just change one word like option to helpme also resulted in system error after installation.Thanks for your help but gonna give up now.Its too hard.
