This is going to vary in how much RAM exactly you get depending on how many and what kind of widgets you use on your home screens, but i just use the big analog clock and have six shortcuts on my home screen on the E6 and this freed about 2MB of RAM for me.
Create a home screen with no wallpaper, no links and no widgets. Using this home screen is equivalent to shutting down all of the things going on on your regular home screen, mates.
