Getting more out of your smartphone battery.
« on: August 05, 2012, 11:04:01 am »
Hello everybody as my c6-01 has a 1050 mah battery, it goes short of battery juice at the last moment. Here are a few tips which would help you to increase your  smartphone's run time.
Note - THESE are all analytical results and have been tried for a very long period of time.

So first off all the display uses too much of power, keeping it to minimum brightness helps a lot.
I use the tweaks plugin for this job.
Keep the sensor switched off for bit more saving.

installing ivo's battery mod is a life saver too.

Also keeping power saving mode activated gives you more saving like no vibrations, screen savers and moreover less of 3g.

Always use 2g network mode only

set wifi and bluetooth to off

If we talk about battery monitoring software, i prefer battery info by Monday coder. It's best app available with a dedicated widget. Get it at store http://store.ovi.com/content/218560

now if you need to save more battery don't use third party apps which you don't need. Like app for unlocking or keeping some app open without any purpose.
What helps you here is app stop by futurice ltd.
http://store.ovi.com/content/92945
this app helps to close any app which you don't want to run

You would want to run it at the time when are going to lock your screen.

Also use a dark theme. I'm using elegance blue by blade.
Keep number of home screens minimum as per your actual need.

avoid big colourful widgets, they prove to be battery suckers.

Night mode is best for saving battery while browsing. It's an option available in uc web browser.

applications/uc-browser-v8-5-for-belle/new/#new

Remove the apps, files you don't need. Keep out the junk by using mobile cleaner.

In the end keep mobile's network offline if you don't need it. It uses lot of power specially while roaming.

Switch off the theme effects as it Will add a lot of battery power. Also don't use any of mods you don't seriously need. Don't configure mailbox, you can check it manually by phone browser.

These tips would prove to be battery saver. If you find something lacking, do comment. Also I've written this post on my phone so please press thank you button if you appreciate my effort. Waiting for your responses.
