hi all this is my first time flashing my nokia 500 to a custom firmware but the problem with the CFW's is that I always get the checksum error.. can anyone help me work around this problem? I tried to use JAF but turns out I can't use that for my phone. any other method I can use?

you have to use phoenix to flash. Check flashing guides available on forum. Every detail is covered in that.

try using 2011 version if you're using 2012 version of phoenix.
