3.- Your Phone firmware
-lowest version of your phone's firmware = Download it via navifirm
-the version you want to flash (if flashing from belle to anna, this would be anna) = Download it via navifirm

Here is summary of the procedure...
1.Phoenix Service Software 2010
2.Phoenix Service Software 2011
3.RM-596[N8] version 25.007
4.RM-596[N8] version 11.005
5.lowest version of your phone's firmware
6.Anna firmware for ur phone[or any firmware that u want to use]
step by step[in this case it is C7]
1.Flashing ur C7 with RM-596 version 25.007(N8 firmware)[use Phoenix Service Software 2010][use update software button]Once done your phone will be bricked. DO NOT PANIC.
2.Flashng ur C7 with RM-596 version 11.005(N8 firmware)[use Phoenix Service Software 2010][use refurbish button]Once the flash is finished your pc should recognize your phone(some drivers will be installed but the phone's screen will be off)
3.Flashing ur C7 with the lowest version of ur C7 (C7 firmware)[usePhoenix Service Software 2011][use update software button]now the phone's screen should be on (at last).[/colour]
4.Flashing ur C7 with firmware version u want(C7 firmware)[use Phoenix Service Software 2011][use refurbish button]

Quick Tip from an E6 user - PhaseP who used this method
Just finished taking an E6 from Belle to Anna. I had to take some different actions for the steps.
In step 3, I had to do a "USB Dead phone" with "No Connection" and "Refurbish".
In step 4, I had to do a "Update Software"
This was the only way to bring it back.

its not good way to Downgrade your OS from Belle to Anna or PR. 1.0
bcoz so many files needed to download and so many steps...

And it's confirmed working that you can flash N8 files to other RAPUYAMA without leaving them a total brick!? Or are these files also available for the other phones and the N8 is only an example?

i guess u need both phoenix to flash...i never try with only one phoenix....and i notice something that after second flashing the N8 driver will installed automaticly....

If u r using an N8, You don't need two phoenix
but I am not sure about other S^3 devices

Syarm, has tried it with his Nokia C7 and he was successful following the exact same process.
if you follow this process, you will absolutely have no problems. any doubts, as here

do u want to use Pr 1.2
See, if u dont want to use anna or belle, simply flash with the firmware that is direcectly lower to the v22 firmware.. and u will succeed..
do these steps:

yes...you can straight flash to anna if you facing problem with pr1.2 firmware...it confirm 1 of my fren faisal rana..:)

Thanks UpakukRox.... It did work... Now I am back to ANNA... Belle was the best Symbian I've used but I was facing some problems with it.. Like The front camera don't work for me to use for video chat.. and another important material, I can't use Google Maps in Belle... But in Anna these Problems don't arise anymore.

Yes JeffyPrince, you still can update to Belle by using Nokia Suite or Nokia Software Updater... ;)

yes...you must follow exactly like the summary.....put ur firmware file in c/program file/nokia/phoenix/product/RM-xxx....

can you give more detail...:) at which part this problem occure?..i mean at which step?

try this again after disconnecting and reconNecting cable. Also make sure that you use correct files and lower firmware is necessary. The tutorial itself is clear i guess. Make sure you do it correct. If problem persists post it here.

and for your information....after first flashing with N8 firmware[step 1]...your phone will brick...but don't panic...it normal...just proceed with step no.2....

Ok I reinstalled the Symbian Belle firmwire to my nokia e6 in dead phone flashing. It is still not working properly but atleast it now boots and my USB is able to read it. Any suggestions on how to proceed from here?

can i know after flash with which firmware(which step) ur phone got brick?..coz i already mention at firsr post u phone will brick at first step...second step it still brick but PC will recognize it....

The phone bricked after the first step. Although it did not seem to properly update the firmware. It gave me an error and asked if I wanted to retry again. I said no and disconnected it. After that i could not get it working. I did the normal firmware updates/refurbished. An as I mentioned I did a dead phone update with symbian belle and now at least the phone boots. Anyway you say that after the first firmware update the phone will brick. Do you need to do a dead phone update for the second one?
Right now I am just trying to get my phone up an running even if it is with symbian belle. Im gonna try to resintall the symbian firmware to see what happens.

Ok Success. I reinstalled the Symbian Belle firmware and now its working properly. For now I am satisfied with that. I will try to downgrade at a later time when I have more time. Probably in a week or so. Anyways to get clarification on the process:

Yes...you rite....flashing failed window will pop up...but the programming is complete...just proceed with second step...don't panic even ur phone bricked....even me also get my phone brick at first step...:)

Hi, I keep getting an error when trying to start Phoenix which looks like a problem with the Nokia Fuse application so i tried to find a copy of Fuse so i could reinstall it but couldn't find it anywhere.
If i click 'ok' on the error message box Phoenix starts up but it won't connect to anything. Please HELP!!!!

i get this message after i flash my e6 in the dead usb mode in the 4th step.

my phone is working properly , but i still cannot use maps and ovi store.

I had to do couple of tries of flashing to get it alright. It appears to me E6 changes mode from flash to normal differently than the version of Phonex used is expecting. But since you made to 4th step and have a working phone it seems you are in a good state.
I would try these:
- Make sure you have the version of firmware exactly for your phone downloaded and are using that one for the flash.
- Connect E6 while booted up working to computer. In phoneix select the USB that the phone is connected as connection. Don't check "dead phone" because your phone is working. In the options of the flashing, select "do not do product mode change at start" and select "do not do product mode change at the end". The text on these I am writing from memory, they may be something different. I found out that E6 is doing these mode changes itself and Phoneix keeps wanting to change it and it gets stuck.
- Then do the "Refurbish" flash.
- In my case at the end Phoneix gets into this "tring to connect to phone step 25, step 24 ...". The phone was turned off at this time, so I powered it on while Phoneix keeps trying to connect with count downs. Pushed the power button while connected, and E6 boots up, and after a few seconds makes connection with PC and Phoneix sees it again. Then it does something more and tries this finalization step, but it never can succeed and gives an error message. I just ignore it at this point and disconnect the phone.
One other thing I found, DO NOT do a hard reset with E6 with pressing certain buttons during power up. I found out the hard way, E6 has this problem, hard reset removes maps and some other installed library that ovi store needs to function. I did this mistake, and solution was either to install this library separately or do a refurbish flash again. Since phone was just flashed with no data in it, I did refurbish flash again which fixed this issue.
Goog luck! It is a finicky process overall, using cracked software and all....

Which step is this that u get failed report?
I mean u have to flash 2 times.. once to n8 11.5 and then to ur own choice of c6-01 fw..

I did everything as stated in the description. I came to work when you need to install a lowest of fw c6-01 and I throw this error. I flash frst 12.6 and throw this error.

Try to power up the phone when Phoneix starts saying "waiting for communication response". It sounds like it is behaving similar to E6. Once phone comes up and connects back to computer it will communicate, but if it is like E6 Phonex will eventually gave error like couldn't change mode or something. Just ignore it.

no...you can't direct flash anna from belle...u must downgrade usong N8 scandinavia pr1.2 first...if not your phone will brick...:)

If you are on belle there is no need to downgrade. You can flash it directly with ultimate belle.

Try the 3 button reset. If it doesn't solve try flashing again in dead mode.

Now try flashing with the ofw files in dead mode. If that also doesn't work try downgrading and then flashing back to belle. It should work.

step by step[in this case it is C7]
1.Flashing ur C7 with RM-596 version 25.007(N8 firmware)[use Phoenix Service Software 2010][use update software button]Once done your phone will be bricked. DO NOT PANIC.
2.Flashng ur C7 with RM-596 version 11.005(N8 firmware)[use Phoenix Service Software 2010][use refurbish button]Once the flash is finished your pc should recognize your phone(some drivers will be installed but the phone's screen will be off)
3.Flashing ur C7 with the lowest version of ur C7 (C7 firmware)[usePhoenix Service Software 2011][use update software button]now the phone's screen should be on (at last).[/colour]

I think your making mistake in 2nd step. Please note that 1st time when you flash with 25.007 N8 version you need to do a software update 2nd time when you flash with 11.005 N8 version you'll need to do a REFURBISH and not a software update.
If you haven't followed the above procedure you might not get it done correctly. Also try using your own product code's fw.

Try flashing it again from first and make sure you're following the steps properly. I think you might have missed some step. Make sure you're pressing the software update or refurbish as mentioned in the tutorial.

1. Could it be done using just Phoenix 2012 ? What is the reason for using two versions of Phoenix (2010 and 2011) ?
2. Do i really need to instal n8 firmware first, because i can not download first n8 firmware version ?
3. My phone is vodafone branded (product code: 059K1B8). Can i use code 059F1G0 (being the only version i can find with navifirm) ?
It is very important for me not to destroy my phone because i need it, but belle is not what i need.

which version you're on? You can always upgrade or remain at same fw version but never downgrade like that.

Now i'm on 22.014 (Vodafone branded), but i'm still facing the same problem. Ovi store and maps don't start. I still have issues with wlan conectivity. Not even ovi suite can't make maps to work.
I saw on earlier posts, someone had the same issue and i don' know if he fixed it or not.
I want to mention that i did a full phone reset and probably this might be the problem.
If i upgrade to v 25.007 :
what button shoud i use, refurbish, update or sw reset,
shoud i check dead phone or not,
the phone must be on or off,
Sorry to ask so many questions, but i don't want to break something and go trough the whole process again and i REALLY don't want to go back to Belle.

alright i advice you to stay on version 22 if you don't want belle. But a hard reset must solve your problems just press *#7370#

If I take a look back, I think all my problems started after I did a reset using *#7370#. I don't even have quick office, ovi store, maps icons in he menu. It dissapeared
Honestly, belle is useless for me. Anna is much better. As I said before, Belle is very similar to Android.

I want to thank vds5344 for all advises he gave. I managed to install 25.007 using "dead phone refurbish".
Personal opinion: E6 users must not upgrade to belle. I don't know how other Nokia handsets work with belle.
PS: I still don't know why Phoenix could not change product code. It got stuck when trying.
For all people who want to downgrade: Pay attention to all the steps in the tutorial.

Another success story. Downgraded C7 Astound from Belle to Anna. I had similar experience like E6 user. In step 3 I used "Refurbish" to flash it.
I thought it failed because it went dark, however after turning it up I have Anna on it.

Try using the latest version of phoenix, older version had these problem.

5.lowest version of your phone's firmware
6.Anna firmware for ur phone[or any firmware that u want to use]

all i want to say that on other such device when we flash phone for third time with our phones least version then we actually update it because its least version is higher then the n8 v11 but in case of nokia 500 its least version v10 is lower than n8 ver 11 so in this case we downgrade it again so is it really work for nokia 500

Hi, I'm starting flashing on first step -> using N8 firmware RM-596 25.007
But show this error :

Ive tried flashing my 500, but no use cause its not possible to flash the N8 FW files cause I find it impossible to put the phone in flashmode via the 8second power button press.
So tried skipping it and flashing with the lowest Anna FW, the phone was dead so finally had to revert back to latest OFW i.e Belle, in short back where I started.

No... u need to download Two types of version one is RM-596 version 25.007(N8 firmware)
second one is RM-596 version 11.005
and download your own Lowest version.. + your version which is you want to use after downgrade finally....

Yes mate... you can easily downgrade your phone From FP1 to Any other lowest Belle Version of your phone...
you need to follow tutorial carefully first... and download all the related files and software for that.

Mate..... yes you are right...... in Phoenix 2010 doesn't have Nokia 701 RM.... just make a new post of regarding this issue... on the SD forum... or ask this Question on FTW group.
and yes.. SW update and Refurbish both are different bcoz... refurbish doing full flashing... SW UPdate doing only update your firmware...

Well yesterday I tried to downgrade my Nokia C7 from Belle to Anna, but got stuck on the very first step.
1.First step is flashing(software update button) my C7 with the 25.007 N8 files, but it doesn't mention if the phone should be on or off while initiating this action. So should my C7 be off while doing this? Also I can't turn my C7 off totally while connected to PC(meaning that the phone's screen will never be absolutely black), since the charging icon will appear on the phone as soon as I plug it in the PC.
2.I have to flash my C7(refurbish button) with 11.005 N8 file
3.Flash my C7(software update or refurbish button?!!??) with the lowest firmware of my C7.
4.Flash my C7(software update or refurbish button???!!) with the firmware I want.
Have I listed the steps properly? Also please someone answer the 3 questions I asked, as I think it isn't very straight forward.
Also if someone could include if I have to use "USB dead phone" flashing at any steps, if yes, where?

I just successfully downgraded my Nokia e6 from belle to anna. It works fine but there is just one thing that's bugging me. When I first got the phone (it came with anna os) I had a little rectangle on each homescreen (below the clock and profile widget) that showed notifications (such as messages, missed calls ets). Now that I downgraded to anna (last version 25.07) it's gone :( And it's really hard to keep track of my calls and messages without the notifications widget :(

if you get the dongle problem, then you either made the RM-XXX folder wrong, or the files are not correct in it
the folder name must be capital letters, no spaces
otherwise, if you are running a Win7 64bit version, then you need to check in phoenix...tools...options ...product location

I think you are downgrading your 808 to Belle or Belle FP1. Kindly note that 808 Pureview can't be downgraded to any firmware :P

You just try again to flash your 808 with latest version of Belle FP2 firmware. Click refurbish in phoenix when going to flash
Nothing, I've tried it about 20 times and I get different errors.
In SW Reset the programming completes but the phone is not able to boot up (Nokia logo restart cycle).

Yes, cracked version are not good. Always use normal version of Phoenix when you flash your phone ;)

I have a nokia C7 phone and I want to down grade BELLE back to its original software ANNA. your tutorial is nice how ever you should have posted some specific step by step screen shots on how to downgrade and flash out the BELLE in order to return back to ANNA. I have downloaded all the necessary firmwares and requirements you have posted and my problem is how to start it right. In addition to that, I have some questions that may be you can answer or guide me in clearly,
1. Before doing step 1, do I have to connect my phone first?
2. You required to phoenix software's to flash out belle, SW versions 2010 and 2011, however, there is a new post in this forum about a new version of the software which is a 2012 version, is it ok if I use the 2012 version instead of the 2011 version?
3. where can I download a normal version of phoenix cause the link you provided are cracked versions?

Did you get it back up and running?
Dead flash using Software reset with OFW should do it.

Watch the video because the steps listed are not complete. You have to manually change your phone's PHONET driver to the N8's in Windows Hardware Manager before you begin. He does not mention it, but after the final flash you have to uninstall your device in the Hardware Manager and let it be automatically installed in order for it to work properly again.

Flash 1: Phoenix 2010 > Dead USB > RM-596 v25.007 Update Software > Totally bricked.
Flash 2: Phoenix 2010 > Dead USB > RM-596 v11.005 Software Reset > Still totally bricked.
Flash 3: Phoenix 2011 > Dead USB > RM-609 v21.014 Refurbish > Flash "fails" but phone boots and works fine...
Flash 4: Phoenix 2011 > Dead USB > RM-609 v25.007 Software reset > Again, flash "fails" but phone starts right up and seems to be without issue.
i have no interest in doing this again... EVER... But so far i am happy trying Anna on a live E6 :)

Reflash the last FW files in Dead USB > Software reset. i had the same issue the first time on the E6, but after a second try using Software reset the apps all work. Nokia Suite is even telling me to update to Belle now :D

Make sure the name of the file you download matches the name of the link - some files have extra numbers and letters in front of the correct file name (eg: 1442FR47_rm-609_025.007_79.92_prd.core.fpsx should be named rm-609_025.007_79.92_prd.core.fpsx)

open a new Product RM-609 then flashing (Firmware Update) --> then i click the "..." next to Product Code and want to select the N8 (Rm-596 025.007) Firmware but after the click the following message appear: "Neither DP1.0 nor DP2.0 was found for the Product, or the Product cannot be identified" :(

My first try did not go well, either.
Despite what everyone says, you do not have to flash back to Belle to start over (unless you forgot to change the PHONET driver); just flash rm-596 v25 and go from there.

is there any way to downgrade from belle fp2 to fp1 or belle??
i was about to try on this n8 method on my 603 but i didnt want to do that before make sure it would work...
also i tryied comparing the rofs files of both fp1 and fp2 and are almost the same if that helps...

Almost the same is not the same, and the ROM (which you can't see) is also not the same.
