Nokia Lumia with NFC and Wireless charging?
« on: February 15, 2012, 01:02:19 am »

Nokia’s design chief. Marko Ahtisaari hints NFC and Wireless charging coming to Nokia Lumia Smartphones!

There’s No doubt Nokia Lumia has been a winner, Nokia Lumia 800 has been internationally acclaimed as the Best Designed Phone (The design being introduced with my personal favorite Nokia N9). What the WindoesPhone is lagging is some essential features like a File Manager, a Bluetooth FTP to link to other mobile devices, Hot Swap-able  MMC, and NFC

Well, Nokia is certainly working in their Lumia Department. They are certainly trying to add all the features to Windows Phone OS and this is just the beginning. NFC (Near Field Communications) is an awesome functionality introduced properly with the Nokia C7-00 and is now a standard in all new Nokia Symbian Phones. I am not shocked by this news of NFC in future Lumias. What I am interested and I am sure many people would be is Wireless Charging.  We have no doubt seen wireless charging in HP’s TouchPads and if this is coming to Lumia, we are having a winner here!

Marko Ahtisaari is the Executive VP of Designs, Marko Ahtisaari says that Nokia is working on making the device more cleaner. Cleaner? They are actually removing the moving parts like USB Covers and all sliding parts. They are hinting for a minimal design.

“If you can take away a moving part and make it [the phone] more beautiful in the placement of the components, we’ll do it, so that’s something where we can certainly keep improving,” Ahtisaari told the Guardian

He also hinted at other features like the interaction with the touchscreens is old. Does that mean Lumia is soon to get N9 Swipe too? Who knows whats in store but we certainly know one thing, if Lumia doesn’t win, Nokia fails and these are the innovations which can bring back Nokia to the top again. Atleast I am optimistic about that.
