The idea is simple:
Take the events from the calendar (date and time) and show the time left to the selected items in a home screen widget.
It could count down:
in days if more than 1 day is left
in hours if less than 1 day is left
in minutes if less than 90 min left
Simple, elegant, icon like widget.
For example:
I type in the calendar every bus connection, every flight, every meeting for my travel.
On my phone I will see how much time I have for a walk, for sightseeing, to eat, etc.
I will see how much time to leave, to arrive, how much time I have before the next connection.
For travellers it would be powerful. Kids could have it to count down to summer, or to Xmas, husbands for anniversaries.
For the interface It needs a list of calendar events, with checkboxes, where I can select which item to follow, maybe add an icon for that (Bus, plane, people, cake, ring, etc.) which would be next to the countdown. Not many more options are needed.
I haven't see any app like this, and I think for a developer it is a thumb exercise.
I even offer to help with the graphics!
