[Request] [Paid app] IP camera alternative to Trendcam for S^3
« on: February 15, 2015, 04:03:37 pm »
Hi all...
Is here someone that can make alternative for S^3? I found this great software that is only for ancient (but great) s60 3rd fp1 camera/wifi enabled smartphone (N95,N82,E90...) that will transform it into 320x240 IP camera.

TrendCam:
TrendCam - Here

Pros: No PC software needed (only web browser), Has front/back camera and screen capture, Video stream/Still picture capture, can run in background/locked state, Possibility to access directly to phone via wifi-AP profile on host
Cons: No autostart, Only 320x240 capture size (640x480 is software enlarged), Portrait only (Landscape mode not working good for back camera), Not working on belle (Nokia N8), and little slow for my old N82.

Is it the streaming feature you want? i seem to recall there is another app out there which can do that...
But it works on an N8 running S^3 (Anna) with all features.

For what it's worth, it might be a stretch to request an app of this nature to be written from scratch at this point in the Symbian timeline... no open source project on which it can be based, no incentive for any developer...

On other platform there are tons of this kind of software even on Maemo 5(N900) there are many ways to achieve this.
Very Please tell/show me... I found only Trendcam to be able to create (almost native) IP camera feature on my Old N82 so i can access it via any web browser with any device (tested with N8 in Opera Mobile)
My old N8 have belle 0609. After installation i must manualy create Acces point in (menu-settings-connectivity-settings-Network_destinations/AddNewAccessPoint) with static IP for direct connection (Ad-hoc)
Sadly after setting it in Trendcam and connecting to local network or created (Ad-hoc) profile Trendcam give me only "http://" as access to generated Trendcam website.
It looks like that something behind is broken...

On N82 for example will give me (http://169.254.31.164) in first menu.

Well i liked SmartCam using it as wifi/bluetooth webcam app with N82 long time ago. It supports 640x480 and almost 10fps on wifi. (Trendcam can only 320x240 1-3 fps at 65% image quality and shutters N82 while turn-on)
Bad of SmartCam was that app was made client side only with straight control of the PC side viewer. Source is still availble on sourceforge.net
I can donate the project...
