According to the latest rumor, Nokia is working on a new firmware update for its first generation of Symbian ^ 3 smartphones.
From a reliable source, a Hungarian site reports that Nokia is working on a new firmware update for its first generation of smartphone Symbian ^ 3 N8, C7, X7, E7 etc. The next firmware update is said to carry the version number 111.050.0003 (now Belle is v111.040.1511), the release date is still unknown, the jump in version numbers is lower, which may suggest possible solutions and performance improvements in the update.
You do not have any official confirmation on this yet.
I want to know if its true...

Dunno, the source has not being wrong yet though
-
North America still does not even have 111.040 Refresh
-
not completely true mathew...
There are a bunch of NAM firmwares with belle and belle refresh...the problem is that most Symbian phones in NAM were branded phones and the provider didn't have Nokia update the regional product codes
so flashing is needed to really enjoy the phone...but that is anyway, when flashing a cfw ;)
-
According to Nokia, unbranded phones get the firmware first, but my E6 and N8 are both unlocked and still no Refresh. They also said that the distribution of the latest firmware will be very limited, so NAM might never even get it.
-
And they are both still under warranty, so i am not cosidering CFW just yet...
-
first of all: unlocked and carrier branded are two different things... If your product number is a carrier one, then you are likely to never get any updates anymore
second:
- by the time your phones are not in warrenty, they will be so old you'll want a new phone
... You're definitely missing out in all the fun
- if you have a warrenty issue you can always flash it back to ofw before you send it in...and Nokia will never know
- i would only send in with hardware issues, because the guys here and at dm can give repair support to software better than any Nokia Service Centre can
- if your phone is not flashable by dead flash, then Nokia Services won't be able to check your software either
...so as you see ... There are no worries about losing your warrenty by flashing

Anything new about v111.050?
