« on: February 02, 2013, 02:25:08 am »
Hi everybody...

If anybody needs any kind of help referring to any language or translation issues
go to the Symbian^3 Custom Firmware Discussions, as I released a lot of my translation / language threads there

If your problem is not discussed there, then feel free to ask me here... and I will see what I can do

[NEW FP2] ALL writing languages in drag & drop files (for CFW & OFW)

ALL writing languages -easy drag &drop folders (PR1, Anna, Belle, Belle refresh)

ALL TTS languages - Drag&Drop Folders - 28 languages - 35 Voices

[NEW-FP2]Symbian Belle Language Library III 113.xxx + Ultimate Translation Files

I can add more of my stuff and tutorials if wished...

Is there any way to translate a mod? If so, can you help me?

it depends on what mod it is = which file is modded...
Some mods can be translated by modding the other language file the same way the english one was made
some mods can be translated by using the rsc editor and translating the strings by hand
some mods, which are ports from other firmware's can be translated by getting the files from the firmware it was ported from....
As you see, it is different from mod to mod, as file to file

post your mod here and i will explain what to do
or maybe I already have a translation and I can post it

I'll make a couple threads explaining what I do

I managed to translate some mods to the Portuguese copying the corresponding file to c:, unless this http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/symbian-belle-widget-skins/widget-beautiful-weather-digital-clock-combine-htc-look/
it changes the popup homescreen language...
can you help me?

if it overwrites your homescreen popup, then you must have deleted your root.o0013
Its in the C:\private\200159c0\install\root_2001f482 ... maybe you can get yours still off of Z:\ and copy it to C:\private\200159c0\themes\271012080\270513751\536999042\2.0 ... because that is where the ai3_root.o0000 file is copied that the maker of the .sis made to override the actual root file

anyway, (sorry to the maker of the .sis) but this mod screwed up my whole phone. It's only there because the root is modded to show the widgets sampled over eachother. you can not later choose the widget after deleting it. and it screwed up all my homescreens...
it needs fixing badly

i can provide all the language files needed for that app, but I am not going to test it anymore
today after turning the phone to a different language, it couldn't load my setup and went into a bootloop... Had to flash...
The file in the link you provided me has severe issues. Get a weather / clock widget from somewhere else

woow.. sorry about that
the widget doesnt screwed up my phone like yours... i use it just to get unlimited homescreens, it just reset the homescreens for the first time and then I just remove it from HS
really sorry about what happened with you

well, if you can provide the files, I'll be grateful

thanks for the effort

i know this has grown stale, but there is a way to translate a specific app to your language:
1. Use SISContents to unpack the app.
2. Use RESEdit to translate the lines of each .r01 file. The edited line must not use more characters than the original, though, so some translations might have to be cramped a bit. Apply each change before you move on to the next line and save the file as the .r## corresponding to your language code. Find your code here: http://www.symlab.org/mirror/developer.symbian.org/main/documentation/reference/s3/pdk/GUID-31C133DE-F245-5992-9A41-20A99291E72A.html
4. Use SISContents to repack the installer.
5. Ask questions if necessary.
