thanks for the quick reply.

i'm now stuck on another part.  i've been trying to find the answer online but so far it has been difficult, and just confused me more lol.

basically in all the tutorials, all the examples i have seen look like this http://i.imgur.com/F3oIm.jpg
1 image file
2 PPM files
1 content file

however, mine looks like this http://i.imgur.com/NPsJNeN.jpg with two content files. (i already deleted the mem card in red).  is it ok to have 2 content files like that?  are they both suppose to be bold? if you notice, only one is bold, despite me following the tutorial. for whatever reason it will only bold one of them... not sure why that is, or the significance of the bold text... but i wanted to make sure before i proceed.   

also, while the firmware update advance options box is open, am i suppose to manually add these 3 files?

i figure they are important, but none of the tutorials i found really mention them.

Delete the red emmc, just like you already did, and flash

You don't have to modify someting except delete red .eMMC

thanks for all the help. i was really trying hard to figure out why nothing was working for me.  finally i discovered that i was using a bad version of phoenix software.. oddly enough i think it was the most recent one too
 once i discovered that, i found the recommended version to use.  after that i had zero issues.

hm. i think mail for exchange server is missing?  i can't seem to find it anywhere

Email is is default, but Nokia removed some services from Mail client.

how to update?

a) if you flashed v6.0/6.099:
- flash via "Update Software" and without UDA
- after flashing run the app "Updater" from Menu und select v6.2 update.
Your device will restart twice and you will recive all changes. (except store update)
If you are still on v6.0 select v6.099 and v6.2.

b) you didn't flash v6.0/v6.099 before:
you have to flash the whole CFW via Refurbish.
