Title: Redrawing icons without restarting
Post by: matthew on March 14, 2014, 08:49:43 am
huellif recently released an app for S^3 that is welcome news to the theme-modding crowd: an icon cache-clearing utility (http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/symbian3-applications/(free)-iconcachecleaner-v1-0-(11-03-2014)/):

As excited as i was about this confirmation, unfortunately it was not to be for us; the icons remained as they were :(

However, there is pleasant news: v3 has its own work-around for this :)

1. Replace the whole .mif, or use MIFEditor (attached, also install MIFRecognizer) to replace the .svg in the .mif and save it (Save [8]).
2. Move the app from its current folder to another one.
3. Voila! Your modified .mif is now refreshed! Hooray for v3!!! :D

Nowhere near as fast, easy or cool, but it sure beats having to restart the phone to see if the icon looks good or not ;)
