Symbian Multitasking Power
« on: January 21, 2013, 03:41:01 pm »
As we all know, Symbian is a very resource effective OS and consumes very less battery power as compared to  other battery hungry OSes. It's also got a tremendous multitasking power. The below screenshot has been taken from my Nokia 701 (BELLE FP2) showing multitasking of 55 apps at a time including 8 HD games (Asphalt 6, Asphalt 5 etc) and still 50% RAM is free(!!!!)

I was able to run about 55x2=110 apps in Belle FP1. But FP2 consumes slightly more RAM therefore I get 'memory full' message after running 88 apps

Symbian is best at Multitasking. No other OS (Android for example) can handle this much of apps with single core processor. Only a single app on it sucks 30-50 MB RAM.

Symbian was designed to be as efficient as possible, that was the whole point of the OS.

It shows that efficiency when multitasking ;)
