Code Signing
« on: June 14, 2012, 04:32:35 pm »
Hello Everyone

I am new to development (blackberry) And have no symbian experience. I have got a task To sort out the code signing for a collage. I know there are many different types of signing...

Can some one please be so kind to provide me with a link and the steps to sign applications for testing purposes.

Thank you very much

The certificate signing of applications doesn't work with symbian . You need to hack the phone in order to test apps .

Hello all so I have managed to get as far as doing the following:

We recently Purchased a Published ID from the Trust Centre.

We installed the certificate to the web browser and we exported the certificate,  from there we followed the procedure to extract needed documentation in the command Prompt. There are a few applications we would like to sign for testing purposes (Which access secure API’s).  We have registered an account with symbian signed and have registered our testing devices IMEI’s on this account.

Most of The documentation found online is out dated and the downloads the documents refer to are no longer available

I am a bit stuck now, please can some one help me with the next step????

Thank you

the old symbian signed just gives your company or yourself a certificate for certain permissions, a lot of the old ways of getting a 17 cap developer certificate don't work anymore sadly.but as mentioned above you can hack your phone which allows apps to be tested without signing it.
