After flashing a custom CFW on my N8 I wanted to get my contacts back in my phone but my PC only recognizes it in Mass Storage mode... I tried Re-installing Nokia Suite and other drivers but no luck. I only want my my contacts back which are synced in nokia suite.
Whenever I try to connect my N8 in Nokia suite mode, PC tries to install its drivers then error message appears MTP USB Device: Device Unplugged. But my N8 was connected to PC than... Now It has been 3 days and I can not get my contacts back. Let me know if you have a solution. I don't know if I have posted this topic in right section. My apologies for inconvenience. this is exactly what happened to my device as Well and the only thing that worked at the moment was a hard reset. There maybe problems with Nokia suite or Nokia connectivity driver. Try reinstalling it and if trouble persists just try a hard reset. Hope this'd help you.

Thank you for your reply but I have tried everything except a hard reset. I wish it wouldn't have come to this stage.  :( :'( :-X ??? SO there is no other way, huh??

Well there might be other solutions but backup your data and go for it! I don't know of anything else and if you really want to connect/flash your device you may seriously need to reset. Also you may keep a backup of your data by the file manager backup and restore option!

Allstar, please don't get upset...  ;)

In Nokia Suite, go to Contacts, then File>Export contacts
You can export them as .vcf cards and put them on your memory card and import them in your phonebook.
To do this:
1. Create a directory on your memory card at the root level named Other (if it does not already exist)
2. Create a directory inside of Other named Contacts (if it does not already exist)
3. Copy the exported .vcf files to this Contacts directory
4. Open the phone's Contacts app and go to Options (3 horizontal lines)>Copy contact>From other memory and select the memory where you placed the contact cards

Hooray! Nokia Suite issues resolved  :D
