I repeat steps...
- open Phoenix as administrator
- select "no connection"
- file > open product > RM-774
- flashing > firmware update > ... > product code 059M727 (SW version 111.020.0307 / variant 002)
- check "dead phone usb flashing"
- click "refurbish"

Output show: "Waiting for usb device..."

Meanwhile open a box...
----------
Follow these instructions:
1. disconnect usb cable
2. press and hold power button (at least 8 seconds)
3. connect usb cable
4. press ok
----------

In step 2 the phone only performs one vibration. I think it's strange, because I read in another post that three vibration are expected.

Nothing happens and some time later get the message:
----------
The flashing failed. Do you want to retry the flashing?
HRESULT 0x8401f141 (-2080247487)
Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing.
----------

No, no the latest software is the 030 software. You can not downgrade your device software, bro.

Also, don't press anything on the phone until you connect the USB cable. Then, press the power only if it does not proceed on its own and only until it vibrates once and then let it go.

I downoad RM-774 113.010.1506 059G9T4: _lta_light_silver and tried refurbish, but the message keeps poping up:

" The flashing failed. Do you want to retry the flashing?
HRESULT 0x8401f141 (-2080247487)
Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing. "

Can you describe your exact process?
Also, do you have only one set of firmware in your rm-774 folder?

And you might try using a different USB port, too.

Can you describe your exact process?
Also, do you have only one set of firmware in your rm-774 folder?

In rm-774 folder I have files:
RM-774_113.010.1506_23.01_LTA_and_Brazil_79u_prd.rofs2.fpsx
RM-774_113.010.1506_79u_prd.core.fpsx
RM-774_113.010.1506_C00.01_79u_prd.rofs3.fpsx
RM-774_113.010.1506_U15.01_79u.uda.fpsx
RM774_059K0X1_113.010.1506_037.dcp
RM774_059K0X1_113.010.1506_037.vpl
RM774_059K0X1_113.010.1506_037_signature.bin

I removed all nokia programs (latest nokia suite and phoenix 2012.50.000.49146) and drivers (nokia flashing cable driver, nokia connectivity cable driver, pc connectivity solution) and reinstall them.

When I open phoenix no usb device are detected (in connections show only NO CONNECTION option)

Then I chose:
- file > open product > RM-774
- flashing > firmware update > ... > product code 059K0X1 (SW version 113.010.1506 / variant 037)
- check "dead phone usb flashing"
- click "refurbish"

When the box open I do:
- disconnect usb cable and remove battery
- connect usb cable
- insert battery
- hold power button until a phone vibration (about 1 sec)
- release power button and press "OK"

Output show: "Waiting for usb device..." and then got message:
" The flashing failed. Do you want to retry the flashing?
HRESULT 0x8401f141 (-2080247487)
Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing. "

Try this intead:
Phone USB is connected, battery is out.
Begin flash with Refurbish and when that dialog with the 'Remove USB cable...' opens, insert your battery and click 'Ok'

I tested too with rm-774 059G9T4 (113.010.1506_039) that is OS I had when I changed the product code.

And configured like below (remove red marked item)

But I think that firmware is not problem. I believe that I'm doing wrong the step "disconnect usb/battery and connect it again".

The battery should be fully charged?
Its normal in connections show only NO CONNECTION option?

Yesterday I had hope!
I removed all nokia references (programs and drivers) and antivirus. Then I cleaned  pc with ccleaner.
After that, I installed only phoenix.

First I tried the "SW reset" option. I connected charger, usb cable and battery. Phoenix froze with output message "Scanning image files..."
Then I tried the "Refurbish" option. Did same steps, but this time Windows detected the device and installed the driver automatically. Unfortunately flash failed.

The good news is that Windows sounds when I plug the phone. This did not happen before.
The bad news is that "Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing" message persists.

Good news!!
After several attempts it finally worked!

Here the steps:
1. I used my brother's 701 to fully charge the battery (that was almost drained)
2. I disconnected cables and removed battery
3. Open phoenix > file > open product > RM-774
4. Flashing > firmware update > ... > product code 059G9T4 (SW version 113.010.1506)
5. Check "dead phone usb flashing"
6. Click "refurbish"
7. When dialog box opens request to remove usb cable and battery and insert again I do:
--------------------------------------------------------
a. CONNECT CHARGER (very important because without it wasn't working)
b. connect usb cable
c. insert battery
d. press "OK"
--------------------------------------------------------
Than everything went as expected...
The steps 1 and 7a were very important to achieve the goal.

Tks @matthew for the help!
Now my 701 came back to life!
