Very Funny :P. Please seriously let me know if there's anyway to downgrade 701 to Anna!
Never, The 701 would never have even had Anna, it was built on Belle.

I have never used Anna. Want to see how it performs compared to S^3. And some say Anna was far better than S^3.  ???

Hi guys,

I tried your tutorial and I think I messed up my N8 since it got stuck on the NOKIA logo when starting up, but nothing else happens. So my thought is that i might be the firmware you provided. My N8 is from Singapore and before I upgraded it to BELLE it had some apps installed specifically for Singapore region.

So, I will give it another go with new firmware files I found specifically for (in my case) Singapore. Please check out this website: http://www.telefondoktoru.com/support/Nokia.aspx

There you find all NOKIA models with there "native" and or country bound firmware (up and downgrades).

Anyway, I do like your tutorial. If I manage to get my N8 back working again (with the original out of the box installed Symbian^3, i certainly will let you know.

Thnx again, and for all others, do check the web link (firmware for Malaysian user is also there)

Can you please tell us which version of Phoenix you are using and post a screenshot of the files you are using to flash after you flashed the Scandi Truetest 11.05 files?

For your files for flashing (your selected firmware), i would suggest you find the Product Code you want here, then download those files using Phoenix (not that website ;)) by using that PC in Phoenix' built-in Data Package Manager:

Hi there,

After several tries, I did not manage to get my N8 back to "life" again, and the Firmware versions I found on http://www.telefondoktoru.com/support/Nokia.aspx are "not signed", they give an error when trying to select the firmware.

I have decided to get it back to "life" using Nokia Care Suite for Store 5.0, that did the trick, however it installed Symbian Belle back on the N8.

Anyway, my N8 is working again and I will give it another try with some Phoenix version to see if i can manage to downgrade it back to Symbian^3 :-D

For those who have trouble restoring a "bricked" Nokia phone, please use NOKIA CARE SUITE for STORE 5.0 (product support tool for store) and follow this guide: http://digipassion.com/2013/01/use-nokia-care-suite-to-flash-update-nokia-mobiles.html.

That did the trick for me :-D. If you have trouble with tis, please do let me know.

Cheers

@ matthew,  :)

I have downloaded the Phoenix Service Software 2012.04.003.47798 now. Because I did notice that with the one given here, some options were not available, like downloading any firmware. I used the firmware provided in the link as well, although I did notice it was much smaller in size then it should be.

Anyway, I go for holiday first lah  :D, see how when I get back :-D. Xie Xie, Terima Kasih and Thank You  ;)

Use the link i posted to get a product code, then use that product code in Phoenix to download the files.
Only keep one set of firmware files in your rm-### folder at a time.
