Is Nokia completely off with s60v5?
« on: January 23, 2013, 12:07:20 pm »
Being a s60v5 user, We feel neglected for not having a minimum update from Nokia on v5 smart phones, though they do not fall in the smart phones category, still being a old phone in the market of android, iphone and belle it does have capabilities for keeping up. Even developers for nokia are not developing themes for s60v5, they have completely shifted their focus on belle and s^3 devices. Why?
Why are these phones neglected even form developers? 2years ago when I bought my 5230, nokia store got the first glimpse of apps and themes in Nokia store, now when I visit Nokia Store, those same apps are displayed on the store. No new apps? Yes there are plenty of apps available for s60v5, and even new apps got added in these 2 years, but most of those apps make this phone a 'DUMB phone', no offense, but the apps aren't good enough, luckily there are whatsapp, opera, uc, nimbuzz...etc these are the applications that are keeping these phones alive.

It is my and from all other s60v5 users' request, please developers whether its themes or apps, please do not left s60v5 neglected, these are basically making users shift from Nokia to Android.
Theme developers please let us taste your themes, and app developers we are eagerly waiting to test your new app.

Request to All Symbian Developers. :(

Yes it moved on, but there were developers that used to develop themes and apps for this platform even when s^3 and belle were introduced. Like IND190 or daeva112, they used to make themes for these platform a few months ago, but not today, daeva112 said that due to piracy he stopped creating themes on this platform but his themes for s^3 are still available in warez ver.
Developers should not neglect old users, and I think this (Symbian Developers)site is all about not making Symbian dead.
Looking forward to new themes and apps on this platform. Hope that every developer should have a look at this post. :)
