Title: how will support Symbian after Nokia
Post by: azizja1 on June 28, 2013, 10:43:05 am
All of us heard that Nokia stopped the symbian. Last Symbian device is Nokia pure view 808 as they announced. also last shipment of symbian devices will be last summer of 2013. they are going to shutdown OVI store for Symbian also. I observed that some Apps were taken out from the store. Apps update is not working also. Navifirm was stopped.So. Nokia really is killing every thing for symbian.

If there is no new Symbian device published to the market, we will not see any symbian device within tow years.I don't know if nokia will change their mind about symbian or there will be another company will continue producing Symbian devices?

That's what I thought too. Probably they'll just stop developers from publishing Symbian/Meego apps at some point.
I also think about Nokia Maps and Nokia Sync, other services that will probably be discontinued...
I still hope the Symbian/Meego map data will be updated until 2016.
