Title: Nokia 808 Pureview lowest available firmware
Post by: xtc13 on August 16, 2014, 03:07:18 am
Hi.

Does anyone knows which is the lowest firmware version for the Nokia 808.
It's to my knowledge that it comes preinstalled with Nokia Belle FP1.
And devices like Nokia 603, 701 have the lower Symbian Belle firmware, such as the 111.030.0609.

I'm thinking on getting one 808 since I like Symbian but I fear of it having only the FP1 firmware since Nokia removed the scrollbar, which is necessary to some apps.

The lowest is FP1 I'm afraid.

Thanks friend.

I will stick to my new Nokia 603, I can't bear the removal of the scrollbar, some apps needs it.

It is a pain, for the record it was sort of replaced, not removed.

What do you mean it has been replaced, for example in apps like barbelo If you want to scroll down on the access points you can't since the app doesn't include scrolling like newer apps.

I should have being more clear, they replaced the scrollbar with that one and it seems added another one for Apps like the Music player.

You can't change it back without downgrading, but since the 808 came with Feature Pack 1 that's pointless.

I was rather intrigued by this though:

Yeah, as a matter of fact I downgraded from FP2 to FP1 using a complicated procedure with lots of terminology

As far as we know a flashing box is needed to Downgrade, many people have tried traditional dead USB and failed.

Care to share what you did?

Yes, I fiddled with a software called InfinityBox but you have to buy a Dongle, but it's costly, at the time I bought my Nokia 603 (which was like 4 weeks ago) the dongle costs almost as much as my Nokia.

That software can downgrade, and when using it you wipe all the info of the phone, but you need to backup a lot of things such as PP, Signatures, CMLA Keys, the latter are necessary also but you need the fully featured software to do the downgrade.
So what I did was sell the phone which had Feature Pack 1 FW, then bought another 603 new in box with the original FW (Belle) and stuck with that version.
