Title: Run installserver.exe on C: on new firmwares -- by iExtraX7
Post by: msirapian on August 31, 2012, 03:18:25 pm
Hi

All credits go to iExtra7 who created this mod.

That installserver_log mod doesn't work from "C" drive on new firmwares. But patch is fixing that. Just rename installserver to ynstallserver, and apply patch

So in RP+, you'll have 2 patches : a) installserver1.7 (if you had it), b) this one, using the c:/sys/bin/ynstallserver.exe

No longer built-in errors, and this, without flashing!

Seems to work great on Belle Refresh, I haven't tested it yet on FP1 (808).

It means Belle Refresh for sure, and I'll test tonight if it means FP1 as well, unless a 808 user can confirm its working.

what built in errors, such as components built in or others

Yes. Installserver1.7 only disables the cert/signature checking. Therefore, we can still get the component built-in error.

We used to have the installserver.exe to be placed in c:/sys/bin, but it has stopped to work on FP1 first and now on Refresh.

This patch is intended to allow the use of the installserver.exe (as opposed to installserver patch) hack.

Thanks... i'm starting to hate that i've updated to refreshed. Nothing very special just allot of widget wich i don't use:(. BUT problems... no more check in, no more photo/video editor, adobe/quickoffice and now? Installserver works only after patch/rename/patch bla bla bla. I have some serious issues after update. Hopefully that at least someone will release this apps in sis format:)

I know that... but with symbian belle i could do a hard reset and then hit delete and restore then install the firmware and were all there... With refreshed this trick doesn't work. The update should be 385 mb or something like that. My Nokia suite downloads only 305, no matter what i do... so is kind of dumb from nokia not to force those apps into installer so i can have them if you want them or delete them if you don't. Anyway, the Check In missing and ovimusic is strange. This apps aren't also in store...

Move or copy RunInstallServerNotForRom.rmp to patches folder then activate it in rompatcher apps. Working good in my n8 nokia belle refresh... I already install 3D digital clock mod.
