[FREE] ShowIP 2.0
« on: July 29, 2013, 12:00:20 am »
This is just a simple app that allows user to see their public IP address with just 1 click.

This app is written in HTML/JavaScript. And it packed in .wgz installer.

How does it work?
It simply displays contents of http://ipinfo.io/ip

No hacked phone required.

This is just a simple app. Enjoy.

initially this app was poorly coded and it imported a javascript from my website that did .innerHTML on something to show the IP, but I eventually shut my site down and this app stopped working.

today, since this forum was brought back, i decied to go around stuff and maybe fix what i can

I decided to just display contents of http://ipinfo.io/ip this time, and oh boy, doing a simple thing like that turned out to really be a pain in javascript, I spent like, 2 hours trying to make it work and it didn't wanted to work, so I decided to just give up and doing it by doing an iframe.

I also tried swapping an icon with an svg version but it didn't wanted to work, so.. PNG it is...

app updated.

That's awesome! Perhaps you can publish the updated app in the SIStore or AppList, so that everyone has access to it? Or if you are in Telegram, you can share it in the group there, and we add it in the repository.

This is really amazing, if some apps can get fixed, we can make Symbian phones more and more usable again!

Wgz does not support SVG icons, unfortunately.

I don't think my app is useful enough to be worth publishing on various stores
