[FREE] CountIt
« on: June 11, 2014, 10:01:12 pm »
Hello Symbian girls and boys,

CountIt is counter application based on QML.

You can count up or down directly via touch screen or use proximity sensor for more energy efficient non-touch way of control (can works in background or when is phone locked).

In every page is little information hidden in header. Just press it and you can get some information about page. Long press on header opens quick menu.

Download it on Symbian Developer Store

How hard would it be to port this to pure Qt C++ on the 4.6.x framework?
It would be so nice to have this app on the E72 (v3.2) but there is no QtQuick for v3 =o[

I have no idea. I never tried it. At first I must download SW tools for it and after that will see.

For S60v3, you have to use the Qt SDK v1.1.2 or earlier.
This repository has all of the SDKs ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.troll.no/QT/qtsdk/

+1 Awesome! You made a beautiful app! I really like the proximity sensor idea. Do you have a site?

Hello, mate :)
Is this app still being developed? i have an idea that i think might be cool - a dual-count mode, where one button can simply add one event occurence, but a second button can add one occurence to the overall count plus add an event with a criteria met result.
For example: if i want to know what percentage of the cars i saw in a day/hour/parking lot/etc were black, i could press the second touch area to have the special tally. Button 'A' is any car other than black, and button 'B' is for black cars only. That way, the count always goes up by one, but a second count is made for the special circumstance.

Is that an interesting enough idea to implement it?

Hi,

Yeah, app is still under development, but I was on operation with eyes, so for some time I'm not able to longer work comfortably with PC. I hope it will be only for few next days, because I feel better every day.

Anyway - yeah, I already thinking about grid of separate counters, but in these days I'm not happy how I already made it (code is little bit barbarian and also there is few small bugs). Probably I will launch it in some kind of preview in the near future, I can call it version 1.2  ;) , however I want completely change code :D And in this new code I can try include this master-slave relationship of counters. (read as "I don't have any idea how make it, but grrr I want it in my app.")

I uploaded on twitter screenshot of new variant of counter(s).
