[TIP] How to use C2Z and E2Z ROMPatches effectively
« on: August 24, 2013, 01:13:04 pm »
i have thought about posting this for a while now, but the idea that most modders (and not people who use other's mods, but the ones who are actually making and testing their own mods) probably already know this has kept me from doing it.
However, after searching many sites and finding NOTHING posted about this, i decided to go ahead and make this post.
First things first: ALWAYS keep your patches folder on your memory card. The reason for this is that if the mod goes horribly wrong, you can turn the phone off and delete the !2Z patch from your computer and turn your phone back on to try to fix your mistake.
Now, C2Z is best for mods that are very stable with little to no chance of something going wrong. This is good for a mod you intend to keep on all the time as there are very few glitches when using it.
E2Z is for mods that you are not so sure about. Potentially disastrous or highly uncertain result mods. Also, with E2Z you will often have to copy a lot of affected files from C:\ and/or Z:\ to the memory card to keep the phone from locking up. E2Z is kinda meh to me.
Either way, once you have tested the mod and it works, you can go ahead and flash it in or install it to C:\ :)
