Title: [Guide] Downloading Files via Navifirm
Post by: UpakulRox on February 11, 2012, 03:29:56 pm
Here is a guide to how to download files via Navifirm

First download Navifirm - Here (http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9.0;attach=1534)

1. After starting up Navifirm, you will need to wait until it fetches all Nokia Mobile list from navifirm. Always use "Nokia Care Suite" server as shown in the pic below:

2. Now in the search bar below, write your device name (Example: N8). After you get the list, click on your model in the list and wait till Navifirm loads the firmwares available:

3. After that, select a firmware and wait till you get a product list
(http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=843.0;attach=1541;image)

4. Once the list appears, just write your product below in search box and select the firmware. If the fw is not available for your product code, you can also search via country name. (example. type "India" in search box and you will get the firmwares) just select one. (It doesn't matter much with the product code anyway). When you click on the list, you can see download files in the right top window
(http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=843.0;attach=1545;image)

5. After that, click browse, make a folder and name it as "RM-XXX" << This varies from mobile to mobiles. (Eg: For Nokia N8, you should create folder named "RM-596". You can find your RM by this method: When you are in your homescreen, open your number pad and type *#0000# and a screen will appear, scroll through it and you will find your "RM" number.

6. After that just click download and files will start downloading.

For Symbian^3:
For knowing how to flash these files, refer to this GUIDE or see our [url=http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?board=48.0]FIRMWARE FLASHING SECTION (http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?topic=15.0)

For S60v5, you can also follow above guide or use JAF for flashing - Download and Guide (http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?topic=12.0)

Any help, comment below and we will help you

For a Nokia E6 which files should I download?

I just want to make sure that I am downloading the right firmware. Here is a link to my phone: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=nokia+e6&gs_sm=3&gs_upl=77014l79251l1l79643l4l0l4l0l0l0l0l0ll4l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=2000&bih=921&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=16965279307416314171&sa=X&ei=xao8T8ziFYfTiALKh9W-AQ&ved=0CH4Q8wIwAw (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=nokia+e6&gs_sm=3&gs_upl=77014l79251l1l79643l4l0l4l0l0l0l0l0ll4l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=2000&bih=921&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=16965279307416314171&sa=X&ei=xao8T8ziFYfTiALKh9W-AQ&ved=0CH4Q8wIwAw)

I have attached a picture of the navifirm for nokia e6. Here is where I have doubts. There are several versions of E6. For example Nokia E6-00, Nokia E60, Nokia E61. I am assuming E6-00 is the correct one. Under Nokia E6 there is different releases: 111.130.622, 24.1, 25.8 and they all have variants. What I am trying to do is downgrade my Nokia E6 from Symbian Belle to Symbian Anna.

Hi,

I downgraded my E6 to anna v25.007. After that, some of the apps (ovi store, maps, drive, etc) did not work, saying "feature not supported". Unfortunately I did a reset using "shift""space""backspace" and power button. Now quick office is gone, maps is gone, ovi store is gone.
The problem is, I can not install them using ovi suite, because I have to upgrade to nokia belle.
Is there a chance to flash the phone and reinstall this apps ?
What files need to be downloaded with navifirm from the software version I choose, because there are a lot. ? Some are preselected. Do i have to select all of them, including memory card content ?

Thank you

Just download the files that get selected by Default. That's it and then flash it.

you can download manually the store maps etc. :) don't worry or you may just again flash with same fw v25 to get everything without hassle

Also memory card content is extra content it's your wish to use or not use that file.

Which files should I download from the highlighted in the pic?

Only four files (uda,rofs2,rofs3,core) are used for flashing? Are the remaining files of any use? How do I add them to my mobile?

thanks

I tried to reinstall manually.
If I want to install directly from phone, it starts to install and at the end it says "installation can not continue, check time and date".
If I want to install with ovi suite, I have to upgrade to Belle first. There is no other option, or I can not see it.

Thank you

Also there are some small files that are not selected by Phoenix by default, can someone explain me what are they?
