Hi everyone,

I just baught a Asha 311, and had the great sadness to see that in "sleep mode" (phone NOT turned OFF) the screen was desperately ....black  :(
My N8 displayed the hour and other thing we could configure. But this N8 ended up in the mouth of my dog... so R.I.P the N8.

So, anybody here knows about a "trick", a "hack" or a particular CFW that coud restore this feature ?

A very great TX to whom could help me

Ave a nice day to you folks :)

That feature was written into Symbian due to the AMOLED display. Your Asha is rocking a backlit LCD which would require the light being on at all times. It would not very energy efficient to add such a feature, so it does not exist (neither on any LCD screened device, even in Symbian)

You are most welcome.
i have not used Series 40 for 10 years, so i can not be absolutely certain of this, but try pressing the menu key for a few seconds while the phone is in standby and the time should be displayed. Series 60 has had this feature since the early days, so it is quite likely present on your S40 device as well. i know, it isn't as cool but it is still a useful feature.
