Actually we have some major issues and a lot of minor issues to do.
Maybe we drop some of the features to finish a release version and implement it later.
Then it will depend on NOKIA certification - I hope they work between christmas and new years eve.
In short: We are pushing this project very hard. So it will come soon.

It will play audio and videos too.
For video we plan a switchable full screen mode and also a home screen widget.
But maybe for the first release we drop some of these features.
-
well all the best again. And hey videos too? That will be superb. Please make it able to play as many video formats as possible , if u do then it will be a perfect hit ! :)
dnt forget the .avi .mkv and .dat if possible , would be handy as movies come normally in that format in cds , would not need to convert them , would make ur app handy.

Wow Great News.... :)
-
btw any plans on adding more buttons on bottom bar , other than the existing 'options' and 'back/exit' buttons ?
-
wow !
Talk about quick !
And I would like to apologies about your original topic going missing.
PS, whatever you do don't use any QML, it's dam slow with videos ;)

Shame for us, but we did'nt find a way to add buttons to the menu bar (QMenuBar).
If you have any clue about that, then we can add whatever you want ;)

Qt quick to the rescue ? ;)

Qt quick to the rescue ? ;)
I think with pure Qt API we have the best performance and the most of the features.
But the result you can see hopefully very soon 8)

True, it does have better performance but surely you could mix the QML ui with the Qt video player ?

I just using the internal formats.
But for now I can play wmv and mp4 and AVI with mp4. No MOV.

Hey, does this qooplayer support dual audio movies? I had told you before that 701 default video player doesn't play dual audio movies? Does this player support them :O

I tried some mkv, but they dont work.
You should transcode your stream to a regular mp4.

Did you use a different component for the bottom toolbar or did you manage to work around qtoolbar limitations ?

Simply 5 flat Buttons and a fullscreen background window. So we have more space, because the upper status bar is gone 8)

qooPlayer is now in certification.

@ Allstar aka Paul: What do you mean, when you say 'needs some changes though' ?
Has anyone tried hardware-keys?
Remember that qooPlayer project is our youngest project and development just started.
Suggestions are welcome.

Hi Stefan,
What about my question/request?
Will qooPlayer support multiple audio lines in videos?
The main feature I am missing in the default video player, is the option to switch languages.
keep up the good work

I don't found any function in Qt QMediaPlayer to do this. Maybe I check older Phonon API for this feature.
Other way is to check the underlying codecs and their Interface. But it seems not supported and writing a own codec will be a absolutly mess.
So the solution is to recode/remux the mkv files.

update it to support .m4a files
-
update it to support .m4a files
Please try to play the file with qooPlayer. You only have to deactivate the option 'add only known filetypes'. Then you can add this fille by using button '+'. If the file does not play, then we cannot support, because then it is not supported by Symbian and Qt.

I won't even ask how you know my name :P
But it all seems a little clunky for me, the options menus are tiny, way too small for a Capacitive screen.
And sometimes when i close it and open again the tabs at the top only show half ( kind of cut in half).
Also to be honest the sound quality is not upto scratch, probauly a Qmedia problem but if you can improve then please do.
And the volume works from the hardware keys, not tried any other functions yet.
-
this might sound 'not so helpful' but sure its a compliment.
I think this version is just perfect afaik no improvements are needed. Lol
+1 stefan.

;) Sorry for blowing your cover off.
Ok, we will optimize GUI, but this will get a lower priority.
Sound on my C7 is terrible, but with earphones it's very smooth and clear.
I will see, what Qt let me do with audio.
Maybe we decide to use Qt 4.8, but then we cannot add an app widget - this only works til version 4.7.4.
Tough.

Thanks, no problem. It gives me an impression of the variation of user experiences.
Someone like, some other not.

Maybe you could take a look at this : https://github.com/mangolazi/Smooze
The sound quality is not too bad from the loud speaker.
But couldn't you create the HS widget as a standalone app and link it to qoo player ?
