Any good (modern) web browser, P2P apps? Symbian Belle
« on: May 29, 2014, 03:43:39 am »
Hello  :)

I'm currently looking for good web browser for Belle. Why? System browser is one big lag and many sites are too much to handle and browser is closed without warning... It happened too many times - sites with Disqus script, forums or little more of JavaScript and browser process is killed. There is Opera Mobile too but it freeze sometimes, Nokia 500 can freeze to and going reboot too (plus some sites like my e-mail web client are not loaded correctly). OK, there is Opera Mini too and it's the best browser but it convert websites to static form so many of them not working like it should (ex. no dynamic JavaScript and some www elements are not loaded properly). I've tried UC browser from Nokia Store but it can't load anything properly  ???

And thats my first question - there is maybe some good webrowsers for Belle at this point? I know that Symbian was killed by Nokia some time ago, but maybe...

Second question is, that i'm searching some P2P apps for Gnutella. I've found Symella but it's discontinued and the newest version is from 2009 i think. App can't connect to any server and closing itself after a while. I'm listening some Indie band's that share music by P2P and it will be nice to download them directly from Belle.

Best Regards  :)

That's odd about Opera crashing on your phone - it's the gold standard of Symbian browsers.
You might give Star Browser a try. Find it here
