my N8 (with belle refresh ofw)is sending text messages under 160( i.e less than 160 words)characters in 2 or 3 part texts ,when i send text in conversation mode. . The recipient only receives one text but in the mobile log it shows as sent size of 2 (3 or 4). This then shows up on my bill as mutiple text messages when I only sent one with 97 characters. :( :(
Anybody here has same kind of problem. ?
Is there any fix for it ?
Please help. . :'(

yep. .2 times. .but the problem is still exists. .
Btw i have done softreset not hard reset. .

yes. Nd this prob also in one of my frnd' n8 . .he hardreseted his n8 and also reinstalled firmware bt unable to fix it . .thats why i have not tried hard reset option. . .

It sounds like a regional restriction, did he flash to a different maybe a europian product code ?

we both are in india. .and the limit is 160 words for 1 text message. .
When i send message through new message(not from conversation mode ), then there is no problm upto 160 words. .i.e send in 1 msg only. .my problm is sending msg through conversation mode. It sounds like a regional restriction, did he flash to a different maybe a europian product code ?

might be the coz of the extra symbols are used. Try sending a message without any symbols. if problem still persists contact ur service provider.

the problm is in only conversation mode. .i.e if i type same 160 letters message(without even a single special character or symbol) in normal new message mode,then there is no such problm of multiple messagemight be the coz of the extra symbols are used. Try sending a message without any symbols. if problem still persists contact ur service provider.

is the encoding different in conversation mode and new message mode ? Because the same msg (same text) treated differnet in both mode. .
Anyways , how could i check it ?

ya, i had tried many cfw and ofw but never faced a problem like this!

after taking advice from you nd 1 of a forum user(of other forum) about the encoding ,i found it in messaging-->settings-->text message-->character encoding . Previourly it was set to FULL SUPPORT and i changed it to REDUCED SUPPORT. .and guess what MY PROBLEM IS SOLVED. . :) :)
