Nokia HD-1
« on: September 25, 2014, 02:18:42 pm »
Hi,
I have a Nokia HD-1.  http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_Home_Music_UG_en.pdf

It appears Nokia have switched off the portal which lists the available radio stations.  I'd like to access the application code and alter the portal url.  Either to another site or build my own, once I know the format.

Can someone point me in the direction of where to start, accessing the Nokia HD-1 Symbian code.

Cheers,

Nathan.

You sure it's powered by Symbian ?

It seems unlikely that it is.

It's tricky to tell, it's all the Nokia UI, which s40 did look like a clone of Symbian UI.

Does it have a model number of some kind? I can't actually find the firmware, guessing since it has a update feature it must be somewhere.

It's not Symbian S60; it's just an S60 UI clone. The only info i can find on this thing was that the UI was tailored to mime a Nokia phone interface.
It's also too late to get the source code from Nokia (although i suppose there is no harm in asking). i haven't found any record of a firmware update, either.

Hi Matthew,
How did you discover it's not running Symbian?

Cheers,

Nathan.

Well that no mention of Symbian is made in any review on multiple websites and your YouTube link is a video published by a user named 'thesymbianguru' and no mention of Symbian is in the video or description, neither in the manual nor anywhere else is a single hint of Symbian-powered made makes it rather evident this is not its operating system.

The review says with the N8's DLNA capabilities, you can control the HD1; not that the HD1 runs Symbian.

Ooops! i misread that!
Without DLNA (which was once named 'Home Media'), you can't control a device like the HD-1.
