« on: January 08, 2014, 10:10:02 am »
Nokia Mail is no longer configuring itself automatically, it seems. When a new mailbox is created, it will go directly to manual settings, so make sure to get your configuration information from your provider if you do not already have it.

Here are settings for the big four:

Gmail
Email address: username@gmail.com
Password: Your account's password.
IMAP server settings
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465 or 587

OVi Mail
Email address: username@ovi.com
Password: Your account's password.
IMAP server settings
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap.mail.ovi.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS
Server: smtp.mail.ovi.com
Port: 465 or 587

Yahoo Mail
Email address: username@yahoo.com
Password: Your account's password.
IMAP server settings
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS
Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465 or 587

Hotmail/Live/Outlook
Email address: username@domain.com
Password: Your account's password
IMAP server settings
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993
Requires SSL: Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS
Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 25 or 587

Automatic configuration of settings for an email provider is no longer supported by Nokia.
You can create a mailbox for any provider who supports POP or IMAP, just like before, but now you have to configure the box manually.

That is what i mean.I delete all my existing mailbox and recreate all three again.Just need to provide my username and password and mailbox is automatically set up.No need to enter any setting.Set up mailbox doesn't need to go through nokia server unless i think you use nokia mail so what it had to with nokia kill a service

No i don't use OVi. Not on the phone, anyway. Besides, OVi mail is provided by Yahoo, not Nokia.
i just refurbished the E6 and now Email no longer configures itself =o\

Add: Just tested on the E72 and the same thing there; no automatic configuration.
