Title: [Tutorial] Flashing C7/E6/E7/X7/C6-01/500 to Nokia Belle
Post by: UpakulRox on February 11, 2012, 03:06:11 pm
Flash Nokia Belle in your N8/C7/E7/E6/X7/Oro :)

Note:
Steps in brief:
1. Download and Install Nokia Suite (http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/Nokia_Suite_webinstaller_ALL.exe)
2. Download and install Phoenix (http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?topic=10.0)
3. Now follow this guide to know how to download the firmware files files for your device via NAVIFIRM Guide (http://sdf.allstarsoftware.co.uk/index.php?topic=843.msg4481#msg4481)
5. Follow the below procedure for flashing with those firmware files!

For Nokia N8, you must place your downloaded files in the folder "RM-596" and follow the tutorial below.
For other mobiles, see the list
Product  - Folder Name
Nokia N8 - RM-596
Nokia C7 - RM-675
Nokia E7 - RM-626
Nokia X7 - RM-707
Nokia C6-01 - RM-718/RM-601
Nokia 500 - RM-750

Follow the below tutorial perfectly but only make changes in the 1st step for other mobiles.
Quote
1. Assuming that Phoenix Service Software is already installed. Download the Symbian Belle Firmware Files, Put them in a folder "RM-596" and place the folder under C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products. Look at the image below.

Here's a tutorial video:
http://youtu.be/7mH7dd2ohuc (http://youtu.be/7mH7dd2ohuc)

1. Assuming that Phoenix Service Software is already installed. Download the Symbian Belle Firmware Files, Put them in a folder "RM-596" and place the folder under C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products. Look at the image below.
If your device is not N8 and for example C7 then put downloaded files in folder "RM-675" instead of RM-596 above, put your own firmware folder in "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products" and continue. Do same for other models. I have already listed what folder name to give for specific S^3 models

2. Launch the Phoenix Service Software. Select "USB1 - RM596" from the Connections drop-down. This can say USB2 or USB3, etc instead of USB1 if you have many USn cable connected to your computer.

3. Once you are done with the above step, the Phoenix Service Software would look like the image below. The bottom of the GUI will say "Ready".

4. Select File -> Scan Product from the top menu options.

5. The Phoenix Service Software will scan the connected Nokia N8 as a result of the step above and start showing the current version of the firmware on your phone. Look at the image below.

6. Now, select Flashing -> Firmware Update from the top menu options.

7. As a result of the above step, a new window "Firmware Update" will open within the Phoenix Service Software.

8. Click on the button "..." at the side of the Product Code label in the window "Firmware Update".

9. As a result of the step above, a new window "Product codes available in current Data-Package"  will open. Select "euro3_dg" and click on OK button.

Note: The product will get listed only if you have performed step 1 of this guide correctly.

10. As a result of the step above, the selected code should now be visible in the window "Firmware Update".

11. Now click on the "Options" button. A new window will open listing all the firmware files. You need to delete the files that appear in red font. Simply click on the entry in red and click on "Delete" button.

Remove the files appearing in red font
(http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-McI77pWfaWo/TxL7OV6470I/AAAAAAAAFiM/8Ah8rx0Ab7k/s1600/Image00048.jpg)

Select the file entry and click on delete
(http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-McI77pWfaWo/TxL7OV6470I/AAAAAAAAFiM/8Ah8rx0Ab7k/s1600/Image00048.jpg)
After deleting the files appearing in red font
(http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EsLYPTbFUAI/TxL654IJhpI/AAAAAAAAFh8/-vqgfhUuzoM/s1600/Image00049.jpg)

12. Now we are good to go. The final step is to click on "Refurbish" button on the "Firware Update" window.

13. After clicking on the Refurbish button, you need to have a little bit of patience while the phone gets update with Symbian Belle. At times, you might feel that the software is stuck but wait until it actually throws up an error and notifies you of any action. Look at the images below.

At this stage, the software takes a lot of time before moving forward so keep your cool.

At this stage the actual firmware update has completed and the phone should restart.

If you see this error at the end of the process with a popup, you need not worry. Simply press the power on button at the top of the phone. Everything should work as usual and the new OS boots!

don't worry, there is no virus in this software, I personally tested it, disable antivirus during installation of Phoenix..
some antivirus gives this fake warning..

that error happen because some of the phoenix file deleted by antivirus software while installing...it used to happen to me...i just uninstall my antivirus and install phoenix...then reinstall my antivirus...try disable your antivirus temporary for installing phoenix...:)

1. which phoenix version should i use this time?
2. do i have to use the same usb mode while keeping my phone on when i connect it to the pc in the start?
3. and which button should i use? update or refurbish? like the way u have illustrated above? plz let me know as soon as possible

You don't need to connect the mobile while setting up the phoenix, you'll need to connect the mobile only when the phoenix asks you to do it and make sure you use the software update and refurbish as mentioned or you won't be able to downgrade it easily ;)

Thanks for your help, what i wanted to ask, may be i wasn't able to make my self clear to you. Any way i have upgraded to 24.1v successfully. I was wondering if you can make this guide a bit more comprehensive as there are not so many people around who are familiar with this procedure and they might find it confusing, if they are using it for the first time, like me.
The information which was bothering me and wasn't available in this guide was that:
1. connect your phone in "on" condition to the pc
2. then select usb-rm(xxx) for your mobile phone as the connection type
3. and then scan your product and go on with the rest of the procedure mentioned as it is in the guide

that implies for upgrading i guess and for downgrading one has to set "No Connection" type and then chose "dead usb flashing" option, that's so far i have understood from this site. Pardon me if i am wrong, thanx any way and keep up the good work. :)

Good morning.
I've bought an E6 5 days ago, but I'm noob in flashing. I would like to know what is the point of flashing, when the official firmware is downloadable for free?
However, my E6 is still with Anna.
Could someone suggest me what should I do (firmwares, apps etc.) to unleash the true potential of this phone? Thanks

People flash to edit the firmware or if they have a problem or simply want to update.

Hello everyone, i'm trying to flash my 808 PureView with Belle FP2, I know that I can use the option Software Reset but the Refurbish one needs the "memory card content" file that is around ~1,5GB. What kind of content will flash that file to my phone? I know that file is optional but it's recommended to install it?

Thanks.

it ll have some stuffs that come pre-loaded like free music, videos and some more other stuffs. If you're going to flash with that file then make sure you're having a backup of your mass memory or it ll get wiped while flashing. And good luck flashing the beast ;)

IMPORTANT note for those geting all RED files when trying to update.

The firmware files you download will likely be in a subfolder that matches the product code of the download. Example C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx\059abc\files_are_here.xyz

Move the files out of that subfolder and right into your RM-xxx folder, like this:
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx\files_are_here.xyz

Guess how I learned that... ;-)

Sorry, but that message means you did not get the files in the correct directory.
See if this helps: http://www.keyables.com/2012/12/fix-phoenix-neither-dp10-nor-dp20-was-found.html
If not, please tell us what version of Windows (i see it's 7, is it 32 or 64 bit?) and please list the files you have.

Can you please give a bit more detail about the error?
A screenshot of the error message?
An overview of all the steps you took up to the error?
Thank you :)

-I Copied RM-626 in the product folder.
-Scanned product
-In the firmware update i selected the product code.
-In option tab, i deleted the red file
-Cliked on Refurbrish tab
-Started flashing
-In the middle of flashing while ''Erasing phone data'' it gives an error saying Disconnect and reconnect the cable and retry..
-I disconnected the cable reconnect it but still the same message.

Try with the phone off and not connected to the PC.
Manually select the product, tick the dead phone USB flashing box then select the product code and start the refurbish. When the dialogue box informing you to disconnect the USB cable appears, connect the phone and press the OK button (do not press power on the phone).

Hi, thanks for the quick reply and valuable advice, but I tried with the dead phone flashing also but still the same,
Problem with my phone is that it operates automatically showing unexpected behavior after installing Belle,
Touch pad operates without touching it, touch keypad operates automatically,
I cant figure out whether its software problem or hardware problem.
Do you thing flashing will help me in solving this problem??

Thank you
